Argumenty i Fakty, one of Russia’s esteemed newspapers, published their interview with AIDA Tailor Made Travelling Founder and President Adviye Bergemann. In the interview done by Georgy Zotov, Bergemann shares her views on Turkish tourism while a comparison between Turkish and Russian tourism sectors is made. Argumenty i Fakty distills the Turkish model which led to the country’s slow turn into the capital of tourism while remarking the importance of following in Turkey’s steps.

The publishment starts with Bergemann’s words; “I remember a time where foreign tourists were few. Back when I was a small girl in the 70’s, I would go by the docks and watch the luxurious ships come in. I remember the European and American passengers with their snow-white suits, hats, and pitch-black sun-glasses. In my eyes, they were aliens from a faraway galaxy… Turkey has changed, we opened ourselves up to the World. I try to represent and promote my country wherever I go”. Bergemann also remarks on the success of Turkish tourism during the pandemic; “Last year, most borders, especially those of European Nations, were closed due to coronavirus… Turkey among some other destinations opened up. Rich people and Russian oligarchs got a chance to discover the beauty, culture, and cuisine of our country. This group of people who were accustomed to Cote d’Azur left Turkey satisfied with the country as well as the service they received”. Turkey’s better management of the pandemic thanks to the adversity and adaptability of the nation as well as the correct policies of Turkish authorities were also congratulated.

Argumenty i Fakty adds their own words at the end, “Turkey is an important country regarding tourism, even though it hasn’t always been this way. Just 40 years ago tourism was an underdeveloped sector of our neighbour. At the end of the pandemic, there will be a big spike in tourism, and it is very heartbreaking that we will be too lazy to pick up the money pouring down. Russia can become the next capital of tourism not just for its people and neighbors but also the World. Nowadays, Turkey is inseparable from tourism, proving that nothing is impossible if we just manage to see the money hanging above us.”
